Description
Abusive Head Trauma (AHT) is the leading cause of physical child abuse deaths in children under 5 in the United States. Abusive Head Trauma accounts for about one-third of all child maltreatment deaths.
This course will cover a basic understanding of Abusive Head Trauma including how it is caused and long term effects from damage.
In addition there will be relevant statistical data and image examples of Abusive Head Trauma.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the presentation, the attendee will be able to:
- Describe Abusive Head Trauma: what it is, how it is caused, and long term effects from damage
- Recognize terms used when describing Abusive Head Trauma
