Description
Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) is one of the most common causes of vision loss in children all over the world. More than 14,000 babies a year are affected by some degree of Retinopathy of Prematurity.
This course will cover a basic understanding of Retinopathy of Prematurity, including its formal definition from the American Academy of Pediatrics, information regarding what can cause it, and how it can be treated.
In addition there will be relevant statistical data and image examples of Retinopathy of Prematurity in different zones and stages.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the presentation, the attendee will be able to:
- Describe Retinopathy of Prematurity
- Understand the current screening guidelines set out by the American Academy of Pediatrics
- Describes the different zones and stages associated with Retinopathy of Prematurity
- Recognize terms used when describing Retinopathy of Prematurity
- Understand the importance of RetCam Ultra-Wide Field Imaging as it relates to Retinopathy of Prematurity
